MTSU has canceled classes because students and three campus police employees received anonymous threatening e-mails on Wednesday night before an intentional fire occurred in Miss Mary Resident Hall.

Since before noon, security has flooded campus, and now, representatives from Homeland Security, the FBI, swat teams, Rutherford County Emergency Management and Special Operatives Tennessee Highway Patrol are all on standby at the university.
Some news outlets have reported the malicious e-mail at the root of the sudden class cancellation was directed at a specific faculty member, but Lisa Rollins from the Office of News and Public Affairs confirms that more than one administrator and a few deans were recipients.
