Sen. Barack Obama spoke Sunday at Asheville High School to an estimated crowd of 28,000 people, a day after telling The Blue Banner he thinks he can win North Carolina and young voters may decide the election.
"It's going to be a hard-fought contest. "I'm worried about whether or not I'll be able to get loans next year," said early education major Kenithea Hodges.
The cost of tuition at Winthrop has steadily increased over the past 10 years at around 10 percent every year, according to Winthrop's Institutional Research.

He is 66 years old.
Tyner is classified as a "non-traditional student," or a student who is 25 years or older, choosing to re-enter the academic field to pursue a degree.

Tirrany Ja' Nice Thurmond was elected Miss Savannah State University 2008-2009. The 20 year-old Behavior Analysis major is from Winder, Ga., and is the oldest of four children born to Rabon and Sonja Thurmond.
